When holding medications or specific doses of medications, please use the appropriate HOLD MEDICATION order in Soarian. This can be found by searching for "hold". This specific order goes to Pharmacy as a communication.
Do not use "P_Care" orders to hold medications as these orders are not communicated with pharmacy, and could result in a patient receiving a medication that you had intended to hold.
The HOLD MEDICATION order needs to be completed for each medication you intend to have held. Within the order, you will need to specify the medication and dose of the medication order you want held. Additionally, you need to specify the number of doses you want held.
