CPOE is now being used in L&D and Surgical Services throughout Virtua.
If you are already very comfortable with CPOE, you can stop reading this.
Some of you may still be feeling a little anxious about the introduction of CPOE in these areas. If so, or for anyone who just wants a refresher, review the WBTs that were done as instruction for CPOE. You can find them on Digital411 under Video Quick Tip Links. There is also a link on the Vine.
For those of you who would like to receive additional training, please contact Jim Gamble at jgamble@virtua.org or Adam Glasofer at aglasofer2@virtua.org and we will make arrangements to provide that for you.
In addition, we have provided a training site in which you can actually practice CPOE on test patients. You can find the link for this site from the Vine, called 'CIS Practice Site':
This will take you to the following, in which you should just enter your Virtua network ID and Password.
You will now see this. It will explain the practice site, and give you the User Ids and Password, as well as instructions on how to find the test patients.
Once you are in the practice site, you will be told there are no patients on your census. Use the search feature, and enter one of the Memorial Units listed above into the Last Name field, then click 'Search' and you will see a list of patients:
You can then use these patients to practice CPOE.
Please note that every night, the practice site will be refreshed, so any orders you place will not be present the next day.
