Starting on June 17th, the comprehensive metabolic panel (CMP) will be eliminated as an orderable lab test for inpatients only. If practitioners need comprehensive lab testing based on patient acuity, the Basic Metabolic Panel (BMP) and Hepatic Function Panel can be ordered and will provide identical analyses.
Please note that an Electrolytes Panel is an orderable panel where daily BUN, Creatinine, and Calcium may not be necessary. Please see the chart below for the different clinical chemistry panels that can be ordered via Soarian.
